Organization
The Library has a total area of 960 square meters. The ground floor (530 square meters) includes offices, reading room and newspaper libraries. The remaining surface is placed in the basement in a space intended for a book warehouse and equipped with compact shelving.
The Library is open to Teaching Staff, students, scholars and external users and has a reading room and two periodicals collections rooms, able to hosting 100 users.
In the reading room the books are placed in open shelving and sorted by subject according to a classification scheme borrowed from the Utrecht University Library.
Library deposits present in the Campus, relating to the various research sectors, are centrally managed, for both bibliographic purchases and cataloging. This Bibliographic material is available for consultation.
The Student Learning Center has been active since November 2020, an ambitious project, unique in the University, which provides students with a space dedicated to individual study and group study. Examples in the international literature demonstrate the importance of the circulation of ideas by sharing flexible spaces that encourage learning. This is the Student Learning Center, housed in a building on the Campus (former student meeting center) near the canteen. It is open from Monday to Friday from 8.30 to 19, and on Saturdays from 8.30 to 12.30. A space in the Student Learning Center is reserved for the organization of events such as exhibitions, book presentations, seminars and cultural activities: opening up to the territory, or the Third Mission, is one of the missions of the academic library.
